How to play
- Clear enough space, place your device safely and turn up the volume.
- Choose the dance time: Random for surprise stops, or 10, 20 or 30 seconds for a non-stop dance party with a countdown.
- Press Play and dance while the music plays.
- When the music stops: FREEZE! In the classic game, a parent, teacher or friend is the judge. In the camera games, the app is the judge.
Game modes
Freeze dance
80 songs, random stops or 10, 20 and 30 second rounds. No camera needed.
Freeze
2 to 8 players. The first dancer to freeze scores a point. First to reach the target score (1–10) wins.
Dance score
Follow the moves on screen for 10, 20 or 30 seconds and earn 1 to 5 stars for rhythm, energy, variety, moves and flow.
Solo
One dancer, any of the 80 songs. Collect stars on the song cards and beat your best.
16 dance moves
Practice each move with an animated guide for 10, 20 or 30 seconds, with or without the camera.
Mix Studio
Build 30-second mixes from song pieces on three decks and dance to “My Mixes”.
Camera on your device
The camera games and camera practice appear only when a camera is available. Everything else works without a camera.
Android
Uses the device camera. On compatible TVs and TV boxes, a connected USB camera may be used; camera games appear when a compatible camera is detected.
Tips for the camera games
- Put the device on a stable surface or stand. Never hold it while dancing.
- Step back until your whole body is visible, from head to toe.
- Use bright, even light and avoid a bright window behind the dancers.
- Leave enough space between dancers and stay in view for the whole round. Dancers who leave the picture are shown as “Not seen”.
- In Dance score and Solo, standing still for two seconds or more costs points – keep moving with the music.
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are used only for optional connection features you choose to use, such as connecting compatible devices or audio equipment. Android may display permission prompts for nearby devices or connections.
- Allow a permission only if you want to use the related feature.
- Pair only with devices you recognize and trust. Do not accept unexpected pairing requests.
- You can turn Wi-Fi or Bluetooth off, or change app permissions in Android Settings. Features that depend on the connection may then stop working.
- We do not collect, store, sell or share personal data. The app does not use these connections to identify you, track your location or send your personal data to the developer. Android, Google Play, your network provider or a connected device may process technical connection information under their own policies.
Frequently asked questions
I can’t see the Camera button.
The button only appears when a camera is available. On Android, connect a compatible camera first. If you connect a camera while the app is open, the button appears automatically.
The app says “Allow camera access in Settings”.
- Android: Settings › Apps › Freeze Dance Fun › Permissions › Camera.
The camera doesn’t recognize every dancer.
Make sure every face is clearly visible, the light is good and dancers don’t stand directly behind each other. Step back until everyone fits into the picture and wait a moment until each dancer is shown on screen before you start.
Why did a dancer get fewer points?
In the Freeze game, only the first dancer to freeze scores, and dancers who did not dance get no point. In Dance score and Solo, points are based on rhythm, energy, variety, moves and flow, and standing still for two seconds or more reduces the score. Camera scores are automatic estimates and can be affected by light, distance and camera position.
There is no sound.
Turn up the volume on your Android device or TV and check which speaker, headphones or Bluetooth audio device is selected. Also check the audio output of your TV or sound system.
Where are my mixes and stars saved?
Only on your device. They are not synced between devices and are deleted when you delete the app.
Does the app need the internet? Are photos or videos saved?
The game can be played offline; some optional Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection features may require the relevant connection to be enabled. The app has no ads, no accounts and no tracking. We do not collect, store, sell or share personal data. Camera images are analyzed live on your Android device only; photos and videos are never saved or shared by the app. Android may show permission prompts for camera, nearby devices, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Allow only the permissions needed for features you choose to use. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
How long should we dance?
Take regular breaks and drink enough water, especially in warm rooms. Children should always play under adult supervision, and longer sessions should only take place with an adult present. Please read the Safety Notice.
