Summary
Shared Sketch does not collect, store or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We do not run any servers that receive your drawings, books or photos.
Data We Collect
None. The app does not collect names, email addresses, device identifiers, location, contacts, usage statistics or any other information about you or your child.
Your Drawings, Books and Photos
- Drawings and books are saved only on your device, inside the app.
- Photos and pictures you choose are picked through the system picker. Only the items you select are copied into the app, and they stay on your device.
- ZIP files you import as books are read on your device only.
- Pictures, PDF and PPTX files leave the app only when you share or export them yourself.
Drawing Together over Wi-Fi
To draw together, the app uses your local network to find other devices running Shared Sketch and connects to them directly. Drawing data such as lines, colors, stamps and selected pictures is sent only to the devices in your drawing group on the same network. Nothing is sent to the internet or to us.
Drawing Together over Bluetooth
If you turn on Bluetooth in the app, it is used only to find nearby devices running Shared Sketch and to exchange drawing data with them. Bluetooth is never used to determine your location.
A short random device code and the animal avatar you choose are shown to the other group members so everyone can see who is drawing. This code is not linked to your identity and is not stored by us.
Permissions
Phone and Tablet
- Local Network – to find and connect to other devices on the same Wi-Fi.
- Bluetooth – optional, to connect to nearby devices without Wi-Fi.
- Photos (add only) – optional, only when you choose to save a drawing to your photo library.
Android
- Network access – only to connect to devices on your local Wi-Fi. The app does not contact internet servers.
- Nearby devices – optional, to connect to nearby devices over Bluetooth.
- Location (Android 11 and older only) – Android requires this permission for Bluetooth scanning on these versions. Shared Sketch never reads, uses or stores your location.
- Vibration – for gentle haptic feedback.
You can change these permissions at any time in your device settings.
Children’s Privacy
Shared Sketch is designed for children, families and classrooms. Because the app collects no personal data, no personal information from children is gathered, used or disclosed. There are no third-party SDKs, no ads and no in-app purchases. The only links lead to the developer’s own website from the Settings area.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent or share any data with third parties, because we do not collect any.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date.
